I met him on a dating app. We went on a date on the very day that someone I was currently dating broke up with me, in a particularly heartless manner, on a day that held great significance for me. So, this Greek guy was kind of a rebound. We had a really nice date; he took me out to dinner, and it was delicious. Then we had some drinks and shared lots of kisses. We met one more time a week later for dinner, another delicious meal, and we ended up at his apartment. He shared many stories about his family, his close bonds with relatives, his ambitions, and his life in Greece. I found myself liking him.
We had a pleasant time at his place, with good sex. He was quite enthusiastic. Later, he mentioned that he had missed sex a lot because he hadn’t had it for a very long time. He also thanked me for helping him with his ‘explosions’, which made me feel like a prostitute, even though I didn’t get paid.
He wanted to meet again because he loved how I took care of his ‘explosions’, but for me, the first time was humiliating enough, so I declined. I suggested meeting for a drink since I liked him as a person, but he wasn’t interested in drinks only. He said it didn’t make sense to him to meet just for drinks and that we shouldn’t date anymore. I agreed.
A few months later, he texted me again, asking if I would like to have a drink with him. Surprised, I asked him why he changed his mind about his ‘explosions’. He said he had learned a lot in the past few months and saw things differently. But for me, it was too late. He would always remind me of a guy looking for a girl who could take care of his ‘explosions’, and I know I’m made for much more than that.
It was a good experience; to see that I can say no, even if somebody seems like the only option I have. I loved that about myself.
